Frame is structure, order, and stability. Physical structure and also more abstract structure, as in how you frame your perspective, or structure and plan or routine.
Flow is movement, operation, and variety. It is the movement that animates the structure. It is the flow of your physical form and the flow of the energy that forms you physically.
Storywork and Language work
Build awareness of stories and the language used to construct these stories
Feel and process our words and our stories - emotions, feelings, body sensations, mental imagery, memories
Reconstruct our words and stories - through the language system used and the storywork process
Reprogram our mind and behaviors - through repetition of this process
Restore our connections and relationships - a byproduct of your inner work is a better relationship with yourself and with others; deeper and more meaningful connections; more clarity on your values and your purpose in life
Storywork is a systematic approach to building awareness of your personal narratives (your stories) and the type of language used to construct these stories. Essentially we are becoming aware of the language and the stories that do not serve us.
Although systematic, it is not a mechanical process, as there is a somatic component. We want to feel our words. We want to feel our stories. “In order to do what you want, you have to know what you are doing; in order to know what you are doing, you have to feel yourself.” - Feldenkrais (confirm quote)
Our language and our stories come from feelings and emotions, and also create feelings and emotions. I’m less concerned with what comes first and more concerned with helping people realize that thoughts, emotions, feelings, body sensations, and behavior all occur in relationship to one another. Any sense of disconnection between these pieces of our experience simply means that we have not yet realized the underlying connections. But, we CAN come to realize them. And when we start seeing and feeling these connections, it helps to know how to adjust our language to direct our energy and attention towards curiosity, understanding, acceptance of responsibility, joy and play, and empowered action in the name of love and service.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu, or The Art of Jin Shin, is a Japanese healing art that restores and harmonizes mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy through gentle touch at specific energy points on the body. In Jin Shin philosophy, our energy becomes disharmonized by our unregulated emotions, called attitudes. When we fail to process and release emotions, they stagnate into attitudes, which blocks energy pathways in the body and dyregulates our system.
Combined Modalities
Our experience of emotional attitudes, such as fear, worry, sadness, and anger provides a point that can be addressed through Storywork, Jin Shin, and movement and breath. For me, combining modalities has been an extremely effective approach in helping to regulate my nervous system, my energy, and helping me process thoughts and emotions, and come to understand myself. These tools have been vital in my self discovery, growth and healing process.
I provide my sessions in your home. There is something powerful about bringing these arts together in your space. The processing, the clarity, the understanding, the healing all happens in your environment. There is great value in this, because our mind will associate our experience with our environment. When you experience emotional releases, moments of clarity, bursts of energy through this process, it will be associated with your home.
